Carol Hutcherson

Artist

I became a full-time multi-media artist after retiring as a public school art teacher in 2011. Drawings, paintings, and mixed-media collages are currently displayed at this gallery housed in the beautiful old Carnegie Library Building.

Sales and recognition along the coast have been rewarding. They include recognition and juried show acceptance including the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum in Biloxi, MS., the Walter Anderson Museum, and Mary C O’Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs, MS as well as the South Arkansas Art Center in El Dorado. Commissioned portraits have also been accepted along her life-long artistic journey.

I was formally educated at the University of South Alabama in Mobile after my two daughters reached school age. A life-long MS resident, I currently reside in Gautier. I’m anticipating a new venture in 2023: a published book of poems, limericks, and yarns ( a seven-year collection ) that will include pics of artwork as well! Stay tuned…….the journey continues……..

What joy to honor the creative urges that invite me upon awakening each new day!
